Airport International Group

Edgo is a founding shareholder of Airport International Group (AIG), which was awarded a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) concession in 2007 to rehabilitate, expand, and operate Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA). The QAIA BOT became a landmark achievement for Jordan and the wider region. At launch, it was the first airport public-private partnership (PPP) in the Middle East and among the few globally at the time. The project reached financial close in only six months, a record in the world of PPPs. It placed Jordan firmly on the global PPP map, reinforcing investor confidence in the Kingdom’s legal and judicial framework. In 2024, the Government of Jordan extended the BOT concession until 2039, reinforcing the long-term strength of the public-private partnership.

In 2025, QAIA welcomed approximately 9.79 million passengers, reaffirming its role as a central driver of connectivity and economic activity. The airport has generated substantial revenues for the Jordanian treasury while strengthening Jordan’s position as a regional hub. QAIA has received multiple international recognitions for service quality, passenger experience, and operational innovation, including a 4-Star SKYTRAX rating and customer experience awards from Airports Council International (ACI). Most notably, QAIA received the ACI World–Amadeus Technology Innovation Award for Best Innovation in Airport Operations and Installations Management, recognizing AIG’s Smart Cleaning System, and was named “Most Enjoyable Airport in the Middle East” based on the ACI Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey.

The airport also achieved Level 3 Airport Customer Experience Accreditation, becoming the first airport in the Middle East to reach this level. Most recently, AIG obtained ISO 50001:2018 Energy Management certification, becoming the first airport operator in the Middle East to receive this recognition, alongside the renewal of its integrated ISO certifications.

Sustainability remains a central pillar of QAIA’s development strategy. The airport operates on-site solar power infrastructure that generates more than 25 percent of its energy needs and reduces approximately 12,000 tons of CO₂ emissions annually while maintaining Airport Carbon Accreditation. These initiatives reflect a structured approach to emissions management and operational efficiency as AIG continues to advance infrastructure and partnership initiatives that strengthen resilience and long-term asset performance.

As part of AIG’s broader sustainability framework, Airport International Group Foundation (AIGF) was established in 2019. Serving as the philanthropic arm of AIG, it supports communities surrounding QAIA through structured community development programs aligned with the airport’s long-term objectives. The Foundation maintains a “AAA” ESG rating from ESG Score. Edgo’s CEO, Omar M. Masri, serves as Chairman of AIGF, ensuring strong governance oversight and alignment between the Foundation’s social impact initiatives and the airport’s long-term development objectives.

QAIA is one of the few airports in the world, and the only in the Arab world, with a fully structured CSR foundation (AIGF), operating independently with a board of directors and measurable impact assessments. It stands out as a regional benchmark for aviation-linked philanthropy. AIGF has received several prestigious awards, including for the impact of its Hirfati Training Center in Al Jizah.

Hirfati Training Center, established in 2019, provides market-relevant vocational training and sustainable livelihood pathways for communities near QAIA. As of October 2025, 694 young men and women had graduated from AIGF-supported programs. The Foundation’s 2023–2025 Impact Assessment Report, prepared by a specialist firm, documented measurable improvements in employment outcomes, entrepreneurial activity, female participation, and outreach across 12 surrounding villages.

As a founding shareholder of AIG, Edgo has played an integral role in supporting the development of QAIA through long-term investment, regional expertise, disciplined infrastructure stewardship, and a sustained commitment to environmental responsibility and sustainable growth.
