When my wife Angela and I founded Edgo in the 1950s, our vision was to support the Arab world’s development. Meeting the urgent challenge of providing water, a resource fundamental to both social and economic progress, became our mission. Water, as the origin of life and the bedrock of prosperity, provided the foundation on which Edgo’s culture was established.
Many decades later, our focus remains the same: to aid in the region’s development by strengthening the energy sector and bringing the best technology and expertise to the Arab world. This mission has also led us to build a diverse portfolio of interests in technology, logistics, infrastructure, real estate, and airport services. Our group now comprises joint ventures and acquired businesses, combining integrated delivery capabilities, capital, and renowned industry expertise.
From the very beginning, Edgo has taken a long-term view of both our business and the diverse environments in which we work. Over time, our teams and stakeholder relationships have evolved to meet the demands of the modern world, capitalize on meaningful opportunities, and futureproof our business.
Throughout Edgo’s history, building and developing communities in the Arab world has been intertwined with our work. The Munib & Angela Masri Foundation, Edgo’s charitable arm, has supported more than 20,000 students and over 20 universities across the region. It has created institutions such as the Munib & Angela Masri Institute of Energy and Natural Resources at the American University of Beirut, the Al-Quds Academy for Scientific Research in Amman, and Al-Quds University in Jerusalem.
As a family-owned business, we carry both the potential and the obligation to be inspiring stewards and a collective force in advancing fairer, more sustainable economies. Leadership has been my lifelong pursuit, and I have discovered that businesses rise or fall because of their people.
