Al-Quds Academy for Scientific Research
Al-Quds Academy for Scientific Research is a non-profit organization registered under the Jordanian Ministry of Industry and Trade as a partnership between the Munib R. Masri Development Foundation, the University of Jordan and Al-Quds University in Jerusalem.
The academy was proposed by the Munib R. Masri Development Foundation in response to the perceived need for the development of scientific research and education in the Arab world, particularly Jordan and Palestine.
The initial aim was to raise the quality of education in the schools and universities of Jordan and Palestine, and has since shifted towards providing the necessary research project support for the innovative scholars and researchers.
A sustainable business model was developed by the board of directors to ensure growing financial resources to enable continuous grants to the scientific research.
The development of human capital in Jordan and Palestine is considered to be the cornerstone of future prosperity and improved standards of living for the two countries and hence the focus on training technicians, professionals, scientists to work together on research projects that have a high impact on their societies.
The main message of Al-Quds Academy for Scientific Research lies in the creation of appropriate conditions, infrastructure, and mechanisms to foster scientific research.
The academy aims to build scientific and technological capabilities, promote basic and applied scientific research, and transfer knowledge to all the concerned parties in academia and scientific research.
A further aim is to facilitate networking of researchers in the region with highly reputed international research centers, universities, and schools to bring the latest best practices into the region. To this end, joint research projects with renowned scholars from across the world is a main quest for the Academy to enable greater knowledge transfer and ensure the establishment of a future for Jordan and Palestine that is powered by science and innovation.
